welcome TO Year 6

Meet the Year Six Team:

Mrs Forrest (Class Teacher)

Mr Prior (LSA)

Stepping back in time, children will ask themselves some probing questions: who was Henry VIII and what can we tell about him from his portraits? Why did Elizabeth I’s portraits mysteriously start showing her looking younger towards the end of her reign? Why is it so difficult to work out what Victorian factory conditions were really like? And were the evacuees as happy as they were shown?

MONTHLY Highlight

This week, Year 6 stepped back in time for an exciting World War II workshop. The children explored the life of a WWII soldier, learning about daily routines, equipment and the challenges faced during the war. They also took part in marching drills and a Blitz-inspired drama activity before ending the day with a 1940s dance routine. It was a fun, hands-on experience that brought history to life and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
