War has struck again with the children finding themselves at the very heart of what it means to live life as a child during World War Two. Children will learn how to protect themselves during a Luftwaffe bombing raid, the role of propaganda in the war and what the Blitz meant for people living in cities alongside what life was like for an evacuee.
MONTHLY Highlight
This week, Year 6 continued their exciting new Art unit, Exploring Identity. The children have been investigating how artists use layering, symbolism and contrasting imagery within portrait work to communicate ideas about personality, experiences and individuality. They explored a range of inspiring examples, discussing the different techniques artists use to tell a story through their artwork and sharing thoughtful ideas of their own. We are looking forward to seeing their creativity flourish as they begin designing and creating their own unique portraits over the coming weeks! 🎨✨
